SENIOR EMPLOYMENT

The purpose of the program is to promote older workers by
providing employment training and providing placement services.
Our coordinator acts as a broker in matching the needs of
employers with the skills and experience of individuals age 55 and
older.  Job seekers can complete an application at our office and
receive assistance in seeking employment.

There is no cost to the employer or to the older worker for these services

Job Seekers: In order to be eligible for our program you must be
55 years or older, reside in Indiana County, and have a desire to
work part time or full time.

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP): Income eligible
applicants are placed at non-profit agencies to obtain training and gain or update their job skills. This on-the-job training program focuses on community service. The trainee’s wages are paid by ASI. Once the training period is complete, they are either hired by their host agencies or placed in unsubsidized jobs.

Brokerage System:
Our brokerage system accepts job vacancies
from employers and offers qualified older job seekers an opportunity
for referral to potential employers.  Thus, the program acts as a
broker by carefully matching the needs of the employer and the job
seeker.

Prospective Employers:
The coordinator works with employers all
over the county to place mature workers in full time, part time,
temporary, or seasonal employment.  Employers can maximize human
resource budgets and expand their workforce by hiring experienced,
skilled, and mature workers.  Seniors are a healthy hiring investment
for business and industry.  An investment in the seasoned, mature
worker will pay off with high interest and solid benefits to your
business and the community.
