Aultman Fire Hall 724-349-4500 Directions: From Indiana take Rt 286 West to Aultman. Shortly after passing Hoff Chiropractric clinic there is a sign for Aultman. Turn right proceed 1/2 mile. The road divides, bear to the left. The fire hall is a large yellow building on the left.
Homer City Center
Each center is unique in its blend of social activities and interests. To find out what is happening at each center, locate the activities listing on this website or subscribe to our newsletter, “ Spotlight.” By mail send ASI your address and a check for $3.00, you will receive an annual subscription of “Spotlight”
The congregate meal is served at Noon. The suggested donation is $1.50 per meal. Reservations must be made by Noon the day before you intend to attend the center for lunch. ASI offers a modified meal for those with special dietary needs. Each center holds a monthly party and special menu to honor the group of participants celebrating their birthday and anniversaries.
Some of the other services offered are arts & crafts, recreation, computer education, intergenerational activities, musical entertainment, preventative health screenings & education, group fitness instruction, and a variety of social and volunteer opportunities.
An Apprise Counselor visits each center to assist participants with complexities of health insurance, insurance benefits, Medicare and Medicaid, claims filing, consumer protection, and other current issues.
Transportation is available to and from each center through Indigo (724-465-2140). We offer scheduled shopping trips and provide transportation to medical/therapy appointments.
Prime Time Health
Health programs are presented by health care professionals on the following topics: alcoholism, medication management, chronic conditions, exercise, nutrition, injury prevention, mental health, and end-of-life issues. Three of our most active programs are mall walking Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Indiana Mall from 8:30 am to 10:00 am; swimnastics Thursday at the Indiana YMCA (instructional contribution $3.00); and fitness classes lead by a certified instructor. Agency annual events include: Tax Aide Program – February and March – Clinics where AARP Tax Aide volunteers complete income tax forms (held at each center); Volunteer Recognition Luncheon – an April event held to extend ASI’s appreciation to the many volunteers who donate hours of service to centers (held at all centers); Senior Extravaganza – a May event to honor our senior population (held at the Oak Place Community Center); Prime Time Health Fair – a June event where area vendors, health agencies, medical professionals, and educators exhibit their services and provided screenings (held at the Oak Place Community Center); Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program – a summer program that provides persons over the age of 60 with $20.00 vouchers to be used at participating farmer’s markets throughout the state (income eligibility guidelines apply – call ASI for details; Senior Picnic – a September event full of food, prizes, bingo, and entertainment; Flu Clinics – an annual Fall event – flu shots are administered by VNA registered nurses and IUP nursing students (held at each center). Those holding an ASI membership card will receive a discount on ticket costs. Annual membership fees are $5.00.
Of all the programs and services ASI extends to the community, it is the opportunity to meet with professionals, peers, and pals that continues to be the most popular reason to visit our centers. These partnerships enhance our ability to practice our motto “People Helping People”
