Prime Time Health
Health programs are presented by health care professional on the following topics: alcoholism, medication management, chronic conditions, exercise, nutrition, injury prevention, mental health, and end-of-life issues.
Three of our most active programs are Mall Walking on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Indiana Mall from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; Water Aerobics is held Thursday at the Indiana YMCA and Friday at IUP Zink Hall (instructional contribution $4.00); and Fitness Class led by a certified instructor. Agency Annual Events
Volunteer Recognition Luncheon - April - An event to extend appreciation to the many volunteers who donate hours of service to centers, agencies, and communities.
AARP Tax Aide Program - February & March - AARP Tax Aide volunteers complete income tax forms for those persons with low to moderate income.
Senior Extravaganza - May - An event to celebrate Older Americans Month. Held at Oak Place Community Center.
Farmers' Market Nutrition Program - Sumer - A program that provides persons over the age of 60 with $20 vouchers to be used at participating farmers' markets throughout the state. Income eligibility guidelines apply.
Senior Picnic - September - An end of summer event held in September at Blue Spruce Park. Entertainment, Food, Prizes, Bingo, And More!
Flu Clinic - Fall - Flu Clinics are held at each of the centers with Flu Shots administered by VNA Nurses.
Aging Services, Inc. Membership Card
Cost is only $5.00 a year and can be purchased at any of the social center. Those holding a membership card will be given a discount on ticket costs for certain agency events.
